Can the Raiders win a championship this year? And if so, what do they have to do? |
Ell Sean Smith Sep 23, 08 | To win a championship this season would require an immense amount of luck. That means staying injury-free, other teams not remaining injury-free, and keeping the same coaching staff intact for continuity's sake, plus keeping the bickering, like the friction between Kliffin and Ryan, to a major minimum. Of course, this is all in a perfect world because Kiffin may not be around long and Russell is essentially a rookie at the QB spot. Hopefully, a .500 season is salvageable and that will happen by running the ball. Always a die-hard Raider, I'm just being realistic, no matter how painful. |
Dwayne Morris Feb 21, 09 | To be brutally honest the Raiders will be very lucky to have a .500 season next year. They have a quarterback still playing like a rookie, they have an owner makeing the stupidest decisions ever made by anyone owning a professional team, and the dont have any chemistry. I am a Raider fan but when you see the owner making rediculous contracts mainly paying a punter more than one has ever made. The new contracts with Asomugha and Lechler are the most ridiculous next to the A rod scandle. They did not want to pay Hall who in my opinion held it down for the Raiders but now give the punter a contact for $16 million.Hall gave up a couple of big plays but who on the Raiders didnt. I really think the Raiders are going to be an ugly team until someone else beside Al Davis takes over ownership I love my Raiders and still hold season tickets hoping for the best but something must change and it should start with ownership |

Hall was the biggest piece of scheit I've ever seen( should have been nicknamed toast!), and I personally feel that AD is very quietly having one of his better off-seasons, especially now that they traded for Satele who hasn't missed a snap in 2 years, is very quick and athletic and a great fit for Cable and ZBS. As far as winning the Super Bowl, an awful lot of things would have to break just right as alluded to in an earlier post. |
